This Mini-Mod explores how leaders can intentionally build a consumer-centric culture, creating the environments, experiences, rituals, and behaviors that consistently bring an organization’s values to life.
Drawing on examples from organizations known for distinctive customer experiences, we’ll explore five lenses leaders can use to examine their own culture: environment, rituals and celebrations, the customer journey, employee culture, and leadership modeling. The goal isn’t simply better customer service. It’s creating a culture where employees understand the experience you want to deliver and are equipped to bring it to life consistently.
I recently experienced this firsthand when I walked into an Orangetheory class in Quebec City conducted entirely in French and, despite barely speaking the language, immediately knew what to do and felt at home. It reminded me that when culture is intentionally designed and deeply embedded, it becomes recognizable even without words. I share the story and lessons here: Great Culture Is Recognizable in Any Language.
